Material:
1. The first layer of skin:
The outermost layer of leather is taken from the skin portion of the leather, which does not require any machining or finishing.
Advantages of the first layer gloves: dexterous, comfortable and precise grip.
2. Two layers of skin:
The inner layer of the leather is obtained by cutting or removing the outer layer of the dermis.
The advantages of the two-layer leather gloves: wear-resistant, suitable for dry heavy physical labor.
3. Cowhide:
Bull’s head skin: Most protective gloves use the cow’s head layer, which is mainly scraped from the ribs. Features: soft, dexterous, comfortable, abrasion resistant, tear resistant and puncture resistant.
Cow split leather: Most gloves made of split leather are used for handling and heat protection. Usually, the second layer of skin on the back of the cow is selected, and the shoulder portion is selected less. The quality of the second layer of the rib is not good, and it is rarely used. Features: The cost is lower than that of the cow’s head layer, and the wear resistance is excellent.
4. Goatskin:
Single cortex: its ordinary thickness can not pull out the two-layer skin, it has the advantage of being lighter than cowhide. Because it uses the original thickness, it is suitable for gloves with better mechanical resistance. Because the fiber is not cut, its wear resistance and puncture resistance are strengthened. If it is tanning, it will have better contact effect. Features: soft, dexterous, good wear resistance, tear resistance, puncture resistance. Its abrasion resistance depends on the thickness of the leather, and the thickness usually used is 1.1-1.3MM (good mechanical properties) or 0.6-1.0MM (softness and dexterity are good).
5. Pig skin:
Pig’s top layer and second layer skin: Most of them are concentrated in Asian countries. Because of their poor mechanical resistance and poor dexterity after tanning, they are used for simple isolation gloves. Features: low price.
6. Lamb skin:
Single layer skin: Due to its poor wear and tear resistance, it is usually used only for making ordinary gloves. The thickness of the lamb skin is directly proportional to its dexterity. The thinner the dress, the more dexterous and comfortable it is. Features: soft, smart.
